Sikele
Sikele
The tin version of my Nocellara del Belìce extra virgin olive oil.
Since the packaging costs are lower, the price per liter for the oil in tins is more affordable compared to bottles, though for many people bottles might still be the more practical or preferred option.
The olives are hand picked, immediately taken to the mill and pressed by continuous cycle at controlled temperatures, in order to preserve aromas and nutritional properties.
Once extracted, Sikele is left to decant in stainless steel tanks. Its light sediment makes a textured olive oil that has an intense green color and is full and delicious to the palate. Medium fruity, very fragrant and fresh, it has a delicate bitter note, and a long pepper aftertaste; it also shows balanced and harmonious notes of green tomato, artichoke, citrus fruits and almonds.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Best tasted raw on legume soups, roasted meats and salads, it is very pleasant on bread bruschetta and grilled fish. It can be also used for cooking thanks to its resistance to very high temperatures.
